Fall is here and fashion week is upon us. Working on models is a dream and one that I’m grateful for, but it can have skin challenges. Starting out beautiful helps but between the running around, the jet-lags, the fun late nights and early wakeup calls, well let’s just say that skin can show the fun that was had! By the time they reach me, I have my SOS products that help me immediately prep their skin before the actual makeup. Here are some of my skin SOS favorites:
- The famous and never leave the house without, Elisabeth Arden Eight hour cream ( http://www.elizabetharden.com/eight-hour-cream-skin-protectant-10014252000.html ) This cream is amazing for so many things ( dry spots, lips, face mask, hands..you name it) It’s a stable in many make up bags for a reason.

- Estée Lauder Advanced Night repair serum. ( https://www.esteelauder.com/product/681/26959/product-catalog/skincare/advanced-night-repair/synchronized-recovery-complex-ii ) I love this serum! When we do not get enough sleep, our skin suffers. It can show more cracks and lines than normal. This serum is fantastic to counter that. I use it underneath make up because it helps to tighten the skin and give it a fluid base.
- Caudalie eau de beauté (https://fr.caudalie.com/eau-de-beaute.html) one of the classic, because let’s face it, it’s a great product. I spray it on before any cream, base or foundation. And the scent alone helps to relax both model and myself before we begin.
- I often change my creams, but Clinique’s Moisture surge (ihttps://www.fr.clinique.com/product/1687/20522/soins/soins-hydratants/moisture-surgetm-intensegel-creme-hydratant-fortifiantt) is a very good bet for dry skin. This cream is light and hydrating.
- Collagena (https://www.cocooncenter.co.uk/collagena-goldissime-brightening-eye-patches-16-patches/30010.html )brightening eye patches. I love the goldissime ones, which contain a base of hydrogel, marine collagen and hyaluronic acid (which are widely known active anti-wrinkle and brightening ingredients), combined with their serum, the results are just amazing.

- If I have a little bit more time, I use my Foreo IRIS (https://www.foreo.com/iris), which is this incredible eye-massager. With it’s T-sonic technology, in just a couples of minutes, the bags under the eyes and the dark circles are largely diminished. You can even put some of your serum underneath for very dry or tired skin.
- As a make up artist I use a lot of mineral water sprays, and this season I’m really loving the Vichy, eau thermale minerlisante (http://www.vichy.ca/en/mineralizing-thermal-water-150g-3337871308612.html) with its 15 different minerals, helps sooth and hydrate the skin.

These products can be a SOS skin solution for us all…models or non-models alike. We all have long work weeks, late nights and sometimes weekends that were just too much fun to sleep. I hope that my SOS products can help you out once in a while!
In our next blog post, my friend and Master Esthetician, Erika Cooper, will go over what we can do for downtime AFTER a big event like Fashion Week (or other events!) J Keep following and look for our next post!
