Hello My Beauties! This is the first post in my mini series " The Structure Of Skin". As I've said before good
skin is the base of all good makeup. And a good foundation is the key. Foundation is what will " make or break" your makeup. So choose well!

Here are some basic tips on how to find and work you foundation to make it as easy and fluid for you as possible.
Foundation: there are so many options out there; it can really be overwhelming! So how do you chose the best foundation for you?
The key is to ACE YOUR BASE. Know your skin tone. The quickest way to know your skin tone, is to look at veins on your wrist.
Blue means you have a cool skin tone
Green means you have a warm skin tone
And if you have both, well you are neutral
Always test the shade on your jawline and check it with naturel light (by a window or simply go outside, because fluorescent light can alter how the foundation color looks on your skin).Try to get the color the closest to your skin color, if not I recommend a color a little bit lighter which you warm up with your contouring and blush. But if you prefer going a color darker, remember to blend really well.
Skin type:
Oily skin = lightweight, water based foundation and mineral powders (for example Bobbi Browns Skin Foundation).
Dry skin = moisturizing oil-based foundation ( Armani Maestro for example)
Normal skin = well you can do either but avoid foundation that is to creamy. ( for example Dior Nude Air Serum Foundation)
Mature skin : creamy foundation ( Estée Lauder’s Re-Nutriv)
Most foundations today have SPF, but I highly recommend that you put one on Every Day in your skin routine!
Make Up Artist Secret
Every make up artist has their « must- have » foundations in their kit. Those amazing product that can get the best skin results with different types of skin. Between great & well balanced skin and tired, jet-lagged, dry /oily skin, I have to be ready for all and every skin surprises that could be thrown my way,...without my bag weighing 20kg!
So here are my 3 favorites picks that can get me out of any skin situations:

·1) Armani Luminous Silk ( 24 shades) NO SPF
Armani is luxury and it shows here. It's texture is smooth and rich. It’s so easy to apply because it just glides on. It corrects and evens out the complexion, giving that glowing skin…it’s just flawless. It does not have any SPF so layer up on sun protection underneath. You get light to medium coverage. And it’s good for all skin types.
·2) Dior Star ( 14 shades) SPF 30
This one is so beautiful for photos. It just captures the light. The texture is a little bit thick and a lot of people have a hard time using it at first. I warm it up on the back of my hand first, and then I build it up on face. It goes on super smooth and the results are fabulous. It gives you results that are brightening & illuminating…perfect for photots or tv. It has medium to full coverage.
·3) Estee Lauder's Double Wear ( 38 shades), SPF 10
This one is perfect for problematic skin because it is water based and oil free. It’s very fluid, but still rich at the same time. As it’s mattifying you have to work it fast, because once it dries, it really dries. It feels very light on the skin & it has super staying powder. You can choose the level of your coverage with this one from light to full coverage. Because of this versailty, I use this one on men as well, The one drawback - because of the matte finish and texture, I would not use this on a dry skin.
So, now you know - let's see what you can do! Feel free to share pictures with the #ACEYOURBASE of your flawless foundations. Next up, we will be looking into how to enhance those foundations. We will start with one of my all time favorite products - amazing Primers!
