Everyone that knows me knows that I’m a total beach girl. If I could spend most of my time on the beach with my toes in the sand and my face and body in the sun, I would be in total bliss!! And though I’m not someone that likes to put on makeup for the beach, I know that there are times that just need to be the case. It could be a sexy weekend getaway, a work thing or just “a want to feel “good kind of thing. So how do we do a good beach makeup look? In my opion there is nothing less attractive than a woman wearing too much makeup on the beach. Those two just don’t mix together, so it needs to be light but still do the job. So here are a few tips to help you get more of that beach babe look with the most minimum effort, cause we all know, “them beach babes look good without any effort”!
The most important product is the sun screen. Without it we are not going or staying in the sun!! Erika briefed you on this in her latest post SPF 2018. If you haven’t read it, it’s a MUST.

It will totally help you find the best sunscreen for you! Be generous when applying your sunscreen & give it time to really soak in before you put any makeup on. It needs to be dry for the full effect and so the makeup won’t smudge when applying. If you could go without a foundation I highly recommended it. A foundation is just too heavy.
If you feel to bare without one, go for a waterproof concealer, like Lancôme’s Effacternes ( https://www.lancome-usa.com/makeup/face/effacernes/025172.html ), to hide all small imperfections. As for the rest of the face, use a bronzer (but without the simmer) to give structure and even out the imperfections .Tarte has a good one that’s waterproof, the Amazonia Clay ( https://www.sephora.com/product/mineral-powder-bronzer-P99809 ) , and one of my favorite is the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer ( https://www.physiciansformula.com/catalog/product/view/id/1736 ), it has a little creamy texture and it’s perfum is for just MADE for the beach. Apply the bronzer a little bit on your forehead, cheekbones, chin & bridge of your nose... basically where the sun hits you. Do Not try to take away the shine..we are at the beach, you skin is suppose to have a shine to it!

For the eyebrows brush & fix them with a waterproof brow mascara, like the ones from MAC (https://www.maccosmetics.com/product/13834/305/Products/Makeup/Eyes/Brow/Brow-Set#/shade/Clear ). For me the brows are NOT supposed to be perfect on the beach, that’s the whole point of a natural beauty. If you feel the need to fill them in go for a gel, like the one from Makeup Forever Aqua brow ( https://www.makeupforever.com/fr/fr-fr/make-up/yeux/sourcils/aqua-brow ), because that sucker won’t budge but go with a light and feathery hand.
For the cheeks & lips I recommend using a tint. It has a more naturel look and it stays on longer. This year I’m in love with Becca’s Beach tints (https://www.cultbeauty.co.uk/search?q=becca%20beach%20tint&ac=beach%20tint&rk=1) . They are sheer & easy to build up if needed.
I’m not a fan of eyeshadow for the beach, even though there are a lot of waterproof creamy ones out there. I would rather intensify the eyes using either Makeup Forever Aqua XL Ink Liners ( https://www.makeupforever.com/us/en-us/search/aqua%20liner ) for a more fun look as they have so many vibrant colors. And if you are looking for a more or intense/sexy look, Marc Jacobs (https://www.marcjacobsbeauty.com/highliner/gel-eye-crayon/MJ20004.html) has a great waterproof gel eye crayons, which helps you get that fast.

Waterproof mascara is something that I tried to avoid, because I feel that it dries up your lashes and it’s just not worth it. If that is something that does not bother you, there are so many out there. A very good & popular one is Too Faced “Better than sex” mascara.
I like Clinique’s Lash Power “ Flutter-to-Fun ( https://fabled.com/lash-power-flutter-to-full-mascara-black-onyx-344083011)
long wearing mascara (not waterproof), as it stays really well on & it comes off real easy with a normal makeup remover.
To set all of this glory, Kate Somerville has a sublime mist, the Uncomplikated SPF ( https://www.katesomerville.com/anti-aging-products-uncomplikated-spf-makeup-setting-spray?dclid=COn0x42b5dsCFYtENwodGmsCLQ ) , with has 50 SPF sunscreen, sets the makeup & matifies your face.
Enjoy the sun my beach bunnies and stay fun & sexy!
