Most of us love a beautiful lipstick. The right lipstick can make us look radiant, like the wrong shade can make us look a little bit under the weather. With the right one, we feel confident, sexy & even strong.
And with all the shades & textures out there, well it would be impossible not to find the right one for every woman. But as we well know, sometimes, having too many options to choose from, well it’s just confusing. So, I’m hoping that I can simplify it a little for you!
The Two Basic Shades.
Every woman should at least have two different shades of lipstick.
· One strong & vibrant color (example: red or hot pink) that just “pops” & makes your skin glow. Perfect for those gloomy days or just to give you a little “kick” to your daily makeup routine.
· One that is soft, discrete & will enhance your natural beauty (example: soft beige or pink). Perfect to make you feel good & at the same time, keeping it subtle & beautiful.
Having these two in your makeup stash is an absolute must. It does not mean that you can’t have a trillion different shades in your makeup stash, just that these two are the basics. Like a black & nude bra in your closest.
Now knowing that you need at least two colors is one thing & sometimes another to know how to pick the right shades.
The easiest way to find the right lipstick shade is knowing your skin’s undertone.
Why: Most all lipstick shades come in cool or warm tones. By knowing the undertone of your skin, you know which one is better for you, to enhance your skin's complexion.
How: if you have a doubt about what your skin's undertone is, the best way is to look at veins on your wrist.
What does that mean: It means is that there is an orange or a blue pigmentation that is more dominate in your skin tone & that will help you to know what works to enhance your skin's complexion.
Warm, Cool or Neutral Undertones
Warm skin undertone (green, yellow or golden veins): you go towards colors that have orange undertone to them.
Cool skin undertone (blue or purple veins): you go towards colors that have a blue undertone in them.
Neutral Skin undertone (you have both): you can choose from both, your color range is very wide!

For example: How to choose a vibrant red lipstick.
A vibrant red shade for a cool skin tone will have a blue undertone to it, you will see it more as a red with a touch of pink.
A vibrant red shade for a warm skin tone, will have an orange undertone to it, you will see it as a red with a little bit of orange touch to it.
Natural Shades
As for the more softer natural shades, well it’s quite simple:
You follow the natural pigmentation of your lip color & go a tone or two darker.
Now all this does not mean you can’t have fun with lots of different lipstick shades. Go wild, experiment & have fun. Don’t limit yourself to just one shade or two. Just keep in mind to pick the right color tone that goes with your skin’s complexion. You will discover that you have a lot more shades that suits you than you think.
And just a little reminder: don’t forget the importance of a good lip scrub.
Your beautiful lipstick shade is not going to have the same lasting effect or beauty if the base that it’s sitting on, is not in it's best state.

Now go on, find a new & sexy shade that’s just perfect for you!
