It’s February my beauties! Yay!!

We might still be in the winter run but Spring is not so far around the corner. So this is the perfect time to break up our makeup routine and bring a little bit of color to it! And at the same time, keep it fresh as we are approaching Spring!

One of the colors that is coming in strong in 2020 is the color pink. Specifically a hot pink. And I love it! . It’s a color that is vibrant, girly and just overall ,a very cool color. It's a color that makes a statement! And contrary to what some believe, it's a color that can suit most women, be you a blonde, brunette, red head, lighter skin tone, darker skin tone, etc. It works across the board!

Hot pink is a color that comes around in fashion, off & on. It's a color that gives us a fresh vibe every time & we mostly see it on the cheeks and lips when it comes to makeup. Bold pink draws attention to the features of the face & makes you pay attention to the area it is surrounding. One way to update hot pink is to use it for the eyes. Make it the star of the make up & really showcase the eyes.

As this is a very vibrant color, it has to be our focal point as to not overpower the face. Which means the rest of our makeup must be low key. To keep the look fresh & modern, we want to highlight the color.

To give it a little twist, I add some liquid shimmer to it. Just to take it to another level.

The Overall look :

Clean & beautiful skin.

Eyebrows brushed & filled out. On the eyelids, apply a neutral base before your pink color of choice. I use a hot pink color, to make it pop out a little bit, as the shimmer will “tone “down the color, making it seem less vibrant. Apply the color to the inner corner, fanning towards the middle of your eyelid & up under your eyebrows, letting it fade out, either with a neutral color or just your loose powder.

Mascara, a lot of mascara!!

For the cheeks, go with a pink or bronze touch (depending on your complexion) to bring them out a little, but keeping it fresh & healthy. The lips stay fresh with a lot of gloss ( dont forget to lip scrub ). I like this look with a beautiful soft colored gloss, but you can use a very neutral or even an uncolored one. Our focus is really the eyes with a fresh glow to the whole look.

Shimmer Shimmer Shimmer

One thing about pink is that evocates being happy. Adding in touches of shimmer can give a youthfulness and playfulness in our make up.

In the inner corner of your eyelids, press the shimmer with your fingertips, with the color of your choice, onto the eyeshadow. Giving it the aspect that the shimmer is in the inner corner & fanning out as well. Just be careful that they don’t fall too much in the crease under your eyes.

You can of course make this look with different colors, whatever suits your fancy. What’s fun in this look, is taking a vibrant color & making a day to day look that at the same time is fresh & modern. So go ahead, Beauties, put a little Spring in your makeup & make yourself prettier in pink!
